Sorry for my silence. It’s been a fun two weeks of shooting!
I figured the best way to catch you up is with some visuals:) And as you can see below…there are a TON of blog posts coming your way. 4 more weddings, families, portraits, travel, engagement. All the goods!
Wednesday the 14th was the Murphy family. This is one of my FAVORITE shots from our evening sunny-orange session.

Saturday the 17th…
An early morning session with the beautiful White family…

Then a barefoot-baby back patio shoot with the Hinkle family later that night…

Then, Monday, I hopped on a plane with my travel-crazy clients Jill & Lee for their destination engagement shoot in Washington DC. They’re both living in Columbus currently but DC holds a special place in their hearts. I can totally see why after the amazing time we had. You know me…I tried as many of the great restaurants as I could and stayed at the best B&B in the area – The Swann House. I HIGHLY recommend The Swann House, btw. Location – perfect. Management – perfect. Decor – adorable. I’m ready to go back:) Actually, it’s in the works. HUUUUGEEEE thanks to my lovely friend Cassidy for taking my call at 8 am the morning of the flight and accepting my spontaneous request to join me on the trip:) I couldn’t have done it without her. I wish you could see how opposite our planning styles are but we had a great time.
Here’s the hot couple in the city …

Shooting in Georgetown…

And lastly, I shot two more sessions Friday and Saturday. Amy & Shawn’s anniversary pics…

…and Melissa & Derek’s Engagement session.

What a great time we had with them today:) More to come in August!

Monday is a big day over here. My favorite hair stylist on the planet, Leanna Murphey, will be on her own running the PRIMP Hair Studio full time. It just hit me. Full time. At the studio!!! Most of you have already met her since she’s been doing on-location jobs and weddings with me for a little over a year now. Isn’t she great?
So what does this mean for all of you reading this? If you’re not committed to a hair stylist (we’re not interested in stealing you from your stylist!) and you’re in need of a cut, or color, or style, or other service she offers, please consider working with Leanna. I’m asking you this because I know how much each of you have supported me as a new business owner. Well, Leanna has played an important role in my business as she’s partnered with me on sooooo many photoshoots to bring the best looks to the camera. She’s going to be wildly successful. I have no doubt. But I want her to feel the support of all you wonderful people. And she’ll need it as she walks away from a stable environment to something new and scary. Owning a business is NOT easy and I couldn’t have survived without each of you.
Thanks for considering this and sharing it with your friends. Thanks for believing in our businesses over here. Coming to grand opening. Supporting our venture. I’m screaming with happiness inside. I love seeing my friend’s dreams coming true!
That’s including Kelli. And Meagan. Glad we’re doing it together. And I can’t wait for the blog posts to come on each of these talented women!
Big day for you Lela (my dad gets the credit for us calling her that). I’m/we’re so proud:)
To schedule an appointment with her, contact her at 402-3331. Or email her at leannamurphey@gmail.com for weddings and questions.

(a pic from her engagement session this past winter. I just love this shot. If you haven’t seen her wedding preview, it’s here. The rest of her wedding pics will be up next week!)
The perfect end to a destination wedding: a day after session. This could be anything from more portrait time together to taking an exotic excursion to get incredibly unique images together, to splashing around in the ocean, rolling through the sand with your honey or just a quiet romantic session in any location near or at the place you’re staying. A common misconception with the day-after sessions is that your dress will be ruined. In this case, sure the dress got a little dirty, but nothing a good cleaning can’t fix! Not ruined! You can be the one to determine the type of impact your willing to allow your gown to take.
Kurt and Nina chose the beach. The same beach they were married at. We went out about 1 hour before sunset and stayed until it got pretty dark. We spent a little time on the shore and in ankle deep in the water – both of them wearing their wedding wardrobe. It was special. And quiet and intimate. They’re a beautiful couple and I was thrilled to spend yet another day shooting with them:)

This was a highlight this year! Wedding was in Charleston, SC (my first time actually staying there and not driving through) over Memorial weekend. Ceremony was at Folly Beach in the afternoon with the reception being at a beautiful Holiday Inn in Charleston. Then we hit the town with the Knueven crew that night. Perfect wedding weekend and I was glad to have Matt and the puppies with me:) Note: if you are looking for an amazing pet-friendly place to stay, you MUST check out The Vendue Inn.
Here are some fave shots from the day…

Kurt and Nina also opted to do a day-after session…a personal favorite of mine:)
Here’s a sneak peek from their sunset shoot at Folly Beach the day after their wedding. More to come tomorrow!!!

More to come in a few weeks!

Kate will be 16 in 20-some days and I was crazy thrilled to be asked to shoot her 16-year portraits. This girl is all personality. Completely beautiful. And highly styled.
Many more from her session to come but here’s a sneak peek!

Per usual…my amazing styling team was on-set for this one:
Leanna Murphey {PRIMP Hair Studio} – hair
Kelli Ramey {BeautiMarked by Kelli} – make-up
Meagan Carey {The Fashion Darling} – styling
So…i completely misplaced my little G11 point and shoot that I had Melissa walking around with during Grand Opening. Found it this morning so FINALLY i can share a few pics!
First off – thank you thank you thank you to the MAAAAAAANY people that came out. I’d love to list your name here and thank you but there were so many and I’d probably leave off a name. So please except this less appropriate blanket-thank-you. We truly felt the love and support on Sunday. Kelli (make-up), Leanna (hair), Meagan (wardrobe) and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts:)
A couple quick and BIG thank yous go out to some absolutely amazing vendors we work with.
That food all of you were swooning over…it’s all Kathleen’s doing. She’s the owner of Katalina’s (on our street about a block down) and Katalina’s Catering and she’s super skilled at providing knock-your-socks-off catering. The look and feel was super important to us. She over-delivered. Thanks Kathleen:) Now just imagine a brunch with your bridesmaids on your wedding day…or rehearsal dinner…or birthday party…or baby shower…or backyard wedding… She’s your woman. Amazing cook.
ALL floral arrangements were from FRESH in Grandview. We love our friends at FRESH. Actually we adore them. Cory and Trace are top talent. TOP. But of course we wouldn’t be working with them if they weren’t:) Brides, if you want the most amazing custom floral designs for your wedding, these are your people. Tell them I sent you!
Also, so many of you keep asking about that amazing wall mural. All credit goes to a familiar studio face – Corey Rauh. He’s my second shooter for almost every wedding this year. And if you ask nicely, I’ll send you his info so he can paint you an insanely amazing wall mural in your home or your little one’s nursery.
A few I took at the start…
(ps – kelli and her friend rocked out this handmade chandelier a couple days before grand opening! All the sticks were from FRESH and everything was spray painted)

Of course I would completely forget to recruit one of my amazing photo friends to cover the open house :/ I should have thought of it. But thanks a million Melissa for taking these:)
