I love shooting boudoir for our clients. You may not have even known we do this (bc we don’t really talk about it) but when a client of ours wants to rock out an adorable session with us, we’re totally game. I approach boudoir with the same feeling as I do bridal sessions. Deep meaning. Joy. Passion. Excitement. Firty/cutesy personality. All the happiness of being a women, loving who you are and embracing whatcha got. I tell clients: if you hate your body on camera, there’s a good chance I didn’t do my job right. Shoots are tailored to you, your figure and your personality. I think you’ll also get sick of me saying “ok, lets just have some fun”. And it’s just that. Fun. The entire shoot.

And because I never post any images from boudoir sessions on the blog, you’ll have to just imagine how amazing this shoot went. If you’re ever curious to see our boudoir portfolio, you can pop into the studio! We keep it pretty private here since this isn’t our primary business. (ps – I got her permission to publish this one).

I’m so excited to have filled this school year’s marketing/events internship and will make introductions when they start in Sept! Can’t wait:)
We have one more position available.
Photography Intern/Assistant. This person will need to be available 10 hours a week. Be proficient in photoshop. Video and slideshow editing program knowledge would be a plus, but not required. This person will also be invited to attend all weddings to assist with gear for myself and our associate photographer. Student will also be encouraged to attend 5 portrait sessions a month for a greater opportunity to learn and practice behind the camera along side me as I shoot.
Day-to-day and requirements:
- basic editing and culling
- organize and deliver files to our lead studio editor
- slideshow and photo gallery development (working w/ my current programs…you will be trained)
- photographer’s assistant at weddings and portrait sessions w/ opportunity to 2nd shoot at 5 portrait sessions each month for practice. (you get to keep the images you shoot)
- Student is responsible for arranging school credit.
- Student must be able to work from the studio during their hours, from hire until Dec 10.
Ideal schedule: 2 hours a day, M-F, plus the optional choice to attend 5 portrait sessions each month. Weekend photo assistant work will be paid for weddings only.

I love these two. More than the fact that Melissa is my sister-in-law, she’s a friend. I’ve had the privilege of watching these two grow in love , get engaged and begin planning a wedding and future together. There’s a lot I can say about these two, including how adorable their relationship is to watch but I think you’ll get the idea pretty quick looking at the images below. While I did do their engagement session, my super sweet friend Cassidy with Cassidy Dawn Photography will be documenting their big day as I stand by Melissa’s side to support the precious start to an exciting journey.
FRESH had a live display in their booth today. I stole her for a quick shoot in the woods. Holy smokes she looked hot!

Hi friendlies. This weeks has been busy/fun. If you haven’t yet, check recent posts by scrolling down!
I’m headed home to rest up for tomorrow’s big day… Katie and Ryan’s Worthington wedding. If you don’t remember them, they were my Vail, Colorado couple:)
Following their wedding, I’ll be hopping on a plane (with the hubby of course) to Portland, Oregon to shoot Peter and Danica’s outdoor wedding. I’m thrilled. And it’s on a Tuesday…a first for me. I’ve been so excited for this wedding:) They’re wonderful friends of Matt and I and we couldn’t imagine not sharing this with them. There will be tears behind the camera (sniff sniff).
And sometime in that visit I get to finally meet my May 14, 2011 couple from Seattle. They’re coming to Portland to meet and I am so excited to finally put a face with the name!
So, if you don’t hear from me for a few days, this is why! But you know the drill… shoot me an email and I’ll get back as soon as I return. And call if it’s an immediate need. I’ll be back online Thursday (i think we get in super later on wednesday) so look out for some fun previews!
Lastly, tonight wrapped up a the second of two senior shoots we did this week. Lauren. I like her name:) She’s so adorable, see for yourself…

Our studio has started offering a new type of session – Sweet 16, a portrait session for your cutie as she hits a big year in her life! We’re looking forward to keeping you posted on upcoming shoots like this! Kate’s shoot style was my outdoor lifestyle, but we offer indoor High Fashion Sweet 16. Yes, we will shoot with guys too.
