We have an upcoming photo shoot for a major brand and we’re casting a real family and their beloved dog for the shoot. The shoot will take place at the end of February in the hometown of the selected family. Below is some info for casting. Please share with friends, family, acquaintances that might be interested! The casted family WILL be compensated by the client. And the shoot will be a blast:) It’s critical that the pet play an important role in the family’s life, as that relationship will be featured in this piece.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR A FAMILY OF AT LEAST 2 PEOPLE WITH THE FOLLOWING:

– a sporting breed dog (ie. Golden Retriever, German Shorthaired Pointer, English Springer  Spaniel, Lab, Beagle, Coonhound, Weimaraner, etc)

– an active lifestyle (walkers or runner or hikers or campers…anything active and outdoors that  you might do with your entire family). It’s important that this is something your dog does with you.

– a home in a warmer climate location for a February shoot, with a mixed terrain in their city-  area of rock or hills and some trees (ie. Texas, Southern Cali, Florida, AZ, New Mexico)

HOW TO APPLY:

Please include:

• your name, along with a recent family photo and a picture of your dog (if not in your family photo already).

• basic information about your family including ages of everyone

• the breed of your dog

• a description of your favorite outdoor family activities (that include your pet) in your area, and where these activities might take place.  If you have any pictures of your family and pet in these locations, feel free to share those as well. *Not necessary for being selected*
• Please check your schedule to be sure you’re available to shoot on Feb. 26, 2012 near your home. There will be back-up dates for rain, but we’ll be in touch if that is the case.

Join us for 1 day only mini sessions! Since we’re at capacity for full portrait sessions until January (sorry!), we decided to open a couple hours on Saturday Oct. 22 for you to bring your family over for a short session with us!  This is a great time to get your holiday photo, or to whip out the kiddos halloween costumes, bring the dog, and have some fun!

Here are the deets..

- Sessions will run every 20 minutes from 10 am to 1:00 pm near the studio in Upper Arlington – 2134 Arlington Ave. We’ll have a fun set-up going on outside the studio and we’ll move the sessions inside the studio if the weather doesn’t cooperate (and the set will still be cute!). You’ll meet at the studio at the start of your time slot.

- Cost will be $75 and includes a 15 minute session, online viewing and ordering gallery of 10-12 photos to share with family and friends, and your choice of either ONE digital file, or a 5×7 AND SHEET OF WALLETS.

- To book, contact Kate at info@laurynbyrdy.com. Session fee is due in full at time of booking. Kate is available to assist your family with wardrobe….just ask her about it when you email. Note: We will not be able to save spots. Only a payment guarantees your session.

- Photos will be edited and put into the online gallery for you to review within 3 weeks of your session. Additional photos (outside of the images already purchases with your package) can be ordered through our studio directly or online.

She’s just as cute about that ring as every other ring-newbie. This morning, while she was editing, I asked her how many times she’s caught herself staring at her ring. Her answer (in an adorably giddy voice) “oh you know, all the time. It’s so SPARKLY!” (she also raised her voice on SPARKLY to actually make the sound I think a sparkle would make).

I love it.

Out studio lunches are buzzing with wedding chatter and plans. Not just because it’s full blown wedding season and we have some seriously amazing clients to be chatting about…. but with trusty Kate’s big day quickly approaching (sept 24!!) and now super shooter Amber being not long after, we have so much MORE to talk about. I’m just so excited for everyone. So happy to see all the planning come together…or in Amber’s case…all the waiting come to a close:)

Here’s a pic of THE RING. Gorgeous. Different. And soooooo her. This was the ring she wanted so badly and Scott did such a great job making her think she WASN’T getting this one:)

I love these two. This isn’t an “official” engagement session. Just a recently-engaged-quick-pop-by-the-house-for-a-photo, photo:) But I promise, there are more photos coming!

We’re excited to be shooting a feature this morning on-location followed by several interviews around town with some fabulous local businesses as part of a collaboration with Where Women Create & Where Women Cook magazines. We can’t wait to update you with more information!
