April 16, 2010Alright, I totally tried to drag this out but it’s been guessed already so I thought I’d just spill the beans:) I’m terrible at keeping secrets like this anyway…
WE HAVE AN OFFICE!
And by “we” I mean: me. ANNNNNND… Kara (not pictured above) – super fab wardrobe stylist from NYC. Kelli (right, above) – diva make-up artist. Leanna (left, above) – not-a-hair-out-of-place hair perfection.
We’ve been rushing around. Signing a lease. Planning the interior design. Scheduling meetings (already!) and dreaming about a grand opening party to share the finished studio with all of you!
There are bigger plans still in the works but more that later. Maybe I’ll have Leanna guest blog that one:) We’re thrilled to share this news and can’t wait to have all of you visit us!

Here’s a little tour I recorded when we were still in the search process.

First off – I’m still an on-location photographer. THe studio will be the meeting and event location. Hair, make-up and wardrobe styling will happen here. However, we are also fully capable of shooting commercial and portrait inside. The place is huge and beautifully naturally lit. So if you don’t get great light in your home and want to have your newborn shoot here, we’re happy to have you!
And I know what you’re next question is. The answer to it, “YES”. Matt and I are still going to be in London England this January/Feb and in Portland Feb-May. I will be booking one wedding a month from Feb to May and scheduling senior, family, kids and engagement portraits to occur during the time we fly home that month (for only about 4 days in Ohio). We’ll be back here in May.
The Drake Family {Lifestyle Portraits}
February 23, 2010This fall, I was so excited to get a call from the Drake family! I used to work with Keri at sbc advertising in Columbus. She was about two months-ish away from delivering little Opal (in the next post after this one) and wanted to get some fun family shots. So we set up a lifestyle session at the Park of Roses in Clintonville. The light was beautiful and Keri and Lucy rocked out some amazing colors. I was so SO excited when they showed up decked out in all their brightness.

February 5, 2010I’ve been dying to share this one with you! So let’s just get right to it. OH! and feel free to leave some love for Hayley in the comments. She’s probably heard enough sad stuff since her hubby was deployed last month. I think happy “cute kids” and “wish I had your hair” kind of comments are more than welcome here!

Poor little Hudson was pretty sick that day :/ But we managed to get a smile out of him…
(below) These are truly the kinds of portraits I want all of my client to be able to take home. This is who the Lovett’s are. Playful. Happy. W/ curious kids.
I know it’s a bit unbalanced: Miley pics vs. rest of the family. But seriously… this child….
Then there’s Scott and Hayley.
And I’m pretty sure she won some sorta “Hot mom 2009″ award. Ok not really, but she should. Someone submit her photo.
Here is what I loved most about this session: Hayley’s attention to the details. She took everything I said about color and clothing and coordinating but not matching and showed up in something brilliant. I was thrilled to see all the colors. And they looked beautiful with the time of day and at-home setting.

Heller {Lifestyle Family}
January 21, 2010Meet Sarah. The rest of her family was at the shoot, I promise. But this cutie-patoot kinda stole the show. If you’ve had a session with me, you know I don’t pose you. Only if you reeeeeeally need me to and ask nicely:) But Sarah didn’t ask, nor need. She worked it. WORKED IT>
And I laughed. Because it was just so stinkin cute;)
Carol, at the time, was pregnant with their son so this shoot was family>maternity>lifestyle children’s portrait all rolled into one!
Oh wait…back to Sarah. We got off track.

Leigh-Ann couldn’t get enough of the gigantic stuff beaver in her room (her last name is Beavers…so appropriate that she’d have this animal in her room:)
Baby Emery yawning toward the end of her action-packed session. Besides peeing on the bed during her nakey pics, the session was perfect. Actually, the peeing on the bed incident was kinda cute too.

Newborn Lifestyle Portraits – Mahla
September 28, 2009Kurt and Nina welcomed baby Mahla into the world early this month. I totally wasn’t kidding when I said I thought she might have that baby during our maternity shoot last month. I was so excited to see the little addition to the family and she was cuter and newer than ever. So tiny and squeaky. Just precious. So funny: she does this pirate thing where she’ll only open one eye. She also has this little growl that would sneak out every so often. It’s so stinkin cute.
Our shoot was lifestyle – comfortable and natural. Between yawns, it was great to hang out at the house and chat about the incredible lack of sleep this lovely couple is blessed with:)
