This weekend was BUSY. Good busy.

Friday I drove up to Mount Vernon, Ohio for a shoot with the Burke and Wentworth families. He’s a couple quick previews from my time there…

Saturday I was so excited to shoot Ana and Bob’s Worthington Hills Country Club wedding. It was gorgeous, and FRESH rocked out some incredibly floral design for them. Can’t wait to share the details!

I then made my way to New Buffalo Michigan to shoot the absolutely beautiful vineyard wedding for Frank and April. This one will also be awesome to share with you:)

Sarah and David’s Homemade Mount Vernon Ohio Wedding

I’ve been quite excited to share the fabulously homemade wedding of my June 19 couple from Singapore. Sarah and David. Sarah, a Mount Vernon native, solicited the help from friends and family to pull together one of the most uniquely crafted weddings I’ve had the opportunity to shoot.

So, please close out everything in your browser tabs, except this. It’s gonna suck up some juice. Lots of super detailed, highly colorful wedding fun:) I couldn’t possibly post everything from this day. Not even half of it. It was entirely too much. So. Here’s my top top TOP favorites from David and Sarah’s homemade Mount Vernon, Ohio wedding!

After their first look, we headed to downtown Mount Vernon for some shots around the square.

And there happened to be a farmers market…

Sorry to jump to this so quick but I wanted to share a precious shot of Sarah and her sweet dad walking down the aisle. The chapel at MVNU is huge and beautiful and was the perfect place for this large gathering of close friends and family of the couple. They are deeply loved:)

This part of the ceremony special. They had a choir sing one of their favorite hymns during communion time. Goosebumps. They sounded amazing and the song was touching.

The stuff being thrown…origami cranes! Scroll down for a larger pic of the cranes.

These paper cranes were folded by friends and family. All 700 of them. And thrown at the bride and groom leaving the church as well as laid out during the reception!

Sarah’s friends Laura and Johanna plus a team of willing helpers created this amazing chandelier for the gazebo at the reception!

Dear EVERYONE. If you want a fun twist on family portraits, the photobooth is IT! THis was the best family portrait experience I have ever had with my couple. We did all their family shots this way. So fun!

I love shooting boudoir for our clients. You may not have even known we do this (bc we don’t really talk about it) but when a client of ours wants to rock out an adorable session with us, we’re totally game. I approach boudoir with the same feeling as I do bridal sessions. Deep meaning. Joy. Passion. Excitement. Firty/cutesy personality. All the happiness of being a women, loving who you are and embracing whatcha got. I tell clients: if you hate your body on camera, there’s a good chance I didn’t do my job right. Shoots are tailored to you, your figure and your personality. I think you’ll also get sick of me saying “ok, lets just have some fun”. And it’s just that. Fun. The entire shoot.

Her hubby is gonna DIE when he sees these pics!!!!

And because I never post any images from boudoir sessions on the blog, you’ll have to just imagine how amazing this shoot went. If you’re ever curious to see our boudoir portfolio, you can pop into the studio! We keep it pretty private here since this isn’t our primary business. I love these two. More than the fact that Melissa is my sister-in-law, she’s a friend. I’ve had the privilege of watching these two grow in love , get engaged and begin planning a wedding and future together. There’s a lot I can say about these two, including how adorable their relationship is to watch but I think you’ll get the idea pretty quick looking at the images below. While I did do their engagement session, my super sweet friend Cassidy with Cassidy Dawn Photography will be documenting their big day as I stand by Melissa’s side to support the precious start to an exciting journey.

You know Leanna…our studio hair stylist and owner of Leanna Murphey/PRIMP Hair Studio? Well, I had the A-MAZING privilege of shooting her wedding June 11 this year:) Being that she’s my gorgeous partner over here at the studio and gave me TONS of time for pics, i over shot just a bit:) So to give you as much as possible without overwhelming you, I had posted ALL of her first look and portrait time in a video which is now not working. I’ll try to fix it and post it for you. The photos shown below are a quick recap of the day with some of my faves, though!

Note to brides: leanna and ryan opted to do a first look, which I highly encourage! We set up a special location and kept it super private. The experience is wonderful and allows ALL photo to be done 30 minutes before the ceremony starts so you can relax and party the rest of the day! If you’re considering it, talk to me. I have plenty I can show you:)

Great Wolf Lodge was a fabulous location for a reception. I had never been there before but I’m so glad I had the opportunity to shoot there! The service and food were great and the wedding party and guests has a great time.
