Previews and a plane hop

Sorry for my silence. It’s been a fun two weeks of shooting!

Then, Monday, I hopped on a plane with my travel-crazy clients Jill & Lee for their destination engagement shoot in Washington DC. They’re both living in Columbus currently but DC holds a special place in their hearts. I can totally see why after the amazing time we had. You know me…I tried as many of the great restaurants as I could and stayed at the best B&B in the area – The Swann House. I HIGHLY recommend The Swann House, btw. Location – perfect. Management – perfect. Decor – adorable. I’m ready to go back:) Actually, it’s in the works. HUUUUGEEEE thanks to my lovely friend Cassidy for taking my call at 8 am the morning of the flight and accepting my spontaneous request to join me on the trip:) I couldn’t have done it without her. I wish you could see how opposite our planning styles are but we had a great time.

Lottie Da Summer Dresses

Amy has done it again. She’s come out with the most colorful, creative, textured and fun dresses in town! (And I’d say some of the BEST on Etsy!)

You may even see some of these changed up for fall:) I had the pleasure to shoot with a bunch of cuties again while they played in the new styles. They were A-DORABLE.

Updates rollin in

Here’s a quick run-down for ya!

THE STUDIO:

It’s coming along! Looking great in my opinion!

Grand opening is fast approaching! June 27. I hope all of you will make it out. I’ll be sending the “official” invite via email so make sure you’re on the list! Please don’t miss this. We’d love the support and enjoyment of your company. It’s open house style so no need to stick around if you don’t want. Food. Drinks. Happiness. And bring a friend. And if you’re a bride or soon-to-be bride (you know that ring is coming!) stop by to meet some amazing vendors. I do mean A-MAZING.

The party is 5-8 at 433 W. 3rd Ave, Columbus 43201.

AVAILABILITY:

I’m fully booked until mid Aug. So sorry for those of you that were trying to get in for July/early aug shoot but fall is amazing too! I’m booking sessions through mid Dec so please, if you’re interested in another fall or holiday family shoot BOOK NOW if you want a choice of date. I managed to shoot 31 sessions (neeeever again) in Oct last year. I’m only taking 10-15 this Oct so if you really in, that month will be the first to go. Promise.

Early Dec. – on a plane to the UK end of Dec so I will not be booking the 20-24 as I did last year. Please consider thanksgiving week/end as a great time for a shoot w/ extended family!

But the website will be a better place to go for featured images (my faves from all the shoots i’ve done) and more detailed info about sessions and weddings.

May 22 I did some fun family portraits for the Wine family in Mt. Vernon. Derek, the recent college grad and reason for the family shoot, also happens to be Melissa Byrdy’s boy:) I was POSITIVE when they asked me to shoot their family that a proposal was being staged. It was too perfect. Well, Derek had no hardware on him that day so the shoot went off without a ring.

THEN! 5 days later he popped the question!!! I actually was quite emotional about the entire thing since it’s Matt’s only sister and the baby of the family. When I met her she was 13 and worrying about summer reading lists, softball practice, what to wear the first day of school, and all things disney. (well, she’s still into disney:). Where has the time gone??

This is NOT an engagement pic. That’ll come in July. But here’s a quick shot I took during the family shoot. I just love it:)

Out of the studio

May 27, 2010

Off to Charleston, SC for Kurt and Nina’s beach wedding! I’ll return with lotsa of amazing beachy pics and a rockin sunrise day-after shoot with the bride and groom. Wait until you see what we have in store:)

If you need me, you can email but please be patient. I’ll be out until late Monday then spending Tuesday prepping for consults the rest of the week including a full day of commercial work in the studio Thursday. You’ll hear back from me as soon as humanly possibly!
